“For some, BGCC is oasis of in-person learning.” – Half Moon Bay Review (September 2, 2020)

Four weeks ago, middle and high school students in the Cabrillo Unified School District (CUSD) went back to school using synchronous remote learning. This model of instruction involves students attending all their classes over the internet using technologies like Zoom or Google classroom. It is a safe way for students to connect with teachers and attend classes during a pandemic.

However, to access these classes you need stable internet. Something not all Boys & Girls Club (BGCC) members have.

BGCC worked to develop and receive county approval for safety protocols that allow us to open our space for students with no internet. We are excited to host students in static pods of 7 while doing their remote learning in our Club spaces at Cunha Intermediate School. In partnership with the City of Half Moon Bay, we offer this same service for high school students at the Ted Adcock Community Center.

BGCC is open daily for these students to connect to their lessons in a socially distant, safe manner with our counselors able to help with homework assignments.
