Middle School Sports Update – December 2020

CIF recently issued a statement about school sports that said in, part:

Due to the continued surge in COVID-19 infections, the California Department of Public Health has postponed the issuance of its updated youth sports guidance. The California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) does not expect the CDPH will issue any guidance allowing for schools to return to full practice and competition until after January 1, 2021, at the earliest. Thus, all full practice and competition start dates are officially on hold until updated guidance is issued.

Typically the middle school sports schedule generally mirrors the high school sports schedule, this means that the middle school sports seasons are still not certain.

As soon as we know anything further, we will update you.

Boys & Girls Club of the Coastside recognizes the importance of physical activity for well-being.

We are hoping to offer youth sports conditioning clinics in early 2021. These clinics will comply with San Mateo County guidance regarding youth sports. If your child is interested in participating in these clinics, please complete the interest form, by clicking here. Surveys should be completed by Friday, December 18th.

We will be in touch about clinic offerings in early January.
