2024 Counselors in Training in Summer Day Camp Program (CIT)
The COUNSELOR-IN-TRAINING (CIT) Program Overview
COUNSELOR-IN-TRAINING is a practical small-group program where teens in grades 10th-12th explore a career in the critical fields of youth development, education, and youth services. It focuses on building age-appropriate real-world skills using hands on work experiences in a supportive and motivating environment. The CIT program was created to give high school teens an opportunity to gain leadership skills and learn the basics of working with younger children
Upon completion of the CIT program participants will receive community service hours, BGCC recommendation letter, BGCC Swag, a trip to Great America and an end of program dinner. In addition to these excellent benefits CIT candidates will have gained valuable, real-world experience in the following critical areas
This leadership hands on program is for high school teens who are mature, responsible and carry a positive and helpful attitude.
The most important part of the CIT program is the opportunity to gain hands on experience while working with BGCC camp members and being guided by Boys & Girls Club staff.

June 10-12 (Mandatory Training Days)
June 13th – July 26th 2024
Monday – Friday
8:00 am – 4:00 pm
Location: Cunha Middle School Campus
Site Expectations:
-Complete Program Application and Essay (Online_
-Commit to 3-5 hours of CIT on-site training
-Commit to volunteering a minimum of four hours per day for a minimum of two weeks. (You can pick and choose what weeks)
-Consent to a background and reference check
