My wife Jenn and I moved to El Granada in 2002, and it has been the best decision we ever made (besides getting married and starting a family and joining the Boys & Girls Club of the Coastside, of course). The geographic isolation and close-knit community reflect the small town where I grew up in eastern San Diego County.
Being part of a small community means getting involved, and my wife and I fully immersed ourselves in Coastside culture. We bought our first house here and have lived on the same street in El Granada ever since. Raising our child and seeing him flourish in private and public schools, sports teams, and meaningful friends groups has confirmed our belief that the Coastside is an incredible place to live and raise a family.
In addition to coaching youth sports for Little League, CYO, Sea Crest, and currently at Cunha Intermediate School, I have also served on the Midcoast Community Council, the San Mateo County Coastside Design Review Committee, the CUSD Measure S Citizens Oversight Committee, and other local organizations.
I joined the BGCC Board of Directors in 2023 because I really want to contribute to youth development on the Coastside and ensure that other Coastside families, especially the ones that need help the most, can enjoy the same experiences that my family and I have had over the last 25 years. BGCC has the depth and scope—and the Coastside roots and connections—that make this the ideal organization for me to “pay it forward” while also being so thankful for a wonderful life.
