For the past 30 years, I have proudly called the Coastside home. My family and I raised four children here, educating them in the Coastside public schools. This has given me a deep appreciation for the community and the opportunities it provides for young people and families.
I have spent my career helping young people learn, grow, and thrive. After 38 years in public education—including serving as principal of Half Moon Bay High School until my retirement in 2022—I continue to support local youth through my work with the Boys & Girls Club of the Coastside (BGCC).
I believe the best learning happens when schools, families, and communities work together. I am passionate about creating welcoming, supportive environments where every young person feels valued, encouraged, and inspired to reach their full potential. Through the Boys & Girls Club of the Coastside, I am grateful for the opportunity to continue doing the work I love—investing in the next generation and giving back to the community I call home.
Serving as a BGCC Board member allows me to follow my life passion in youth development. I began my career as a classroom teacher, where I spent 17 years inspiring students and building meaningful relationships. Along the way, I also served as a department chair, mentor for student teachers, class advisor, and athletic coach. Those experiences reinforced my belief that education is about much more than academics—it’s about helping young people build confidence, character, and a sense of belonging. I currently serve as an assistant football coach for the Half Moon Bay High School JV team.
Later in my career, I served as Executive Director for the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) Region 5, supporting school leaders throughout San Mateo and San Francisco Counties. I worked to strengthen educational leadership, encourage professional growth, and help schools better serve their communities.
